Literature Text

"_______, are you having a nice time on this trip?" Ludwig asks, looking down at you. You nod with a content smile on your face.

"Yeah! I can't wait to go to Tokyo."

You watch the lively people of Japan pass back and forth. A mother tending to her crying baby. A man reading a newspaper on the bench. Two young children giggling, one chasing after the other. An older sibling scolds them, but you can't understand what she's saying. You love the busy hustle and bustle of the train station.

You and Ludwig are in Japan to visit a close friend, Kiku. You can barely hold your excitement in. You're in a different country! It's definitely exhilarating and all, but also risky at the same time. Neither of you know how to speak Japanese. Trying to comprehend it is just as difficult. Your oriental friend is bilingual, but he isn't there to help. You are supposed to be taking the train to see him right now.

"Wait here, liebling. I'm going to get a map."

"Okay. But hurry up!!"

Ludwig walks up to a stand holding various brochures. He stares at the unfamiliar characters printed on the papers. He goes through all of them, searching for anything that looks like a map. If it was published in English, he could ask for your help to read it. It isn't his best language, since German was his first. He picks up another brochure, desperately unfolding it. The train can come at any time now.

A map! And to his relief, when he flips it to the opposite side, the Japanese is translated into English. He turns around to tell you the good news. Wait...

You are nowhere in sight.

"__________? ___________?!" He practically screams, looking for you in a frantic way. "___________!!!"

You step onto the train by yourself. The door slides shut behind you. Then the train moves away on the tracks that lead to another world ahead.

Ludwig's stomach sinks to the ground. All the color drains from his face.

What is he going to do?

He wants to so badly tell the police, but he can't speak Japanese!

Soon enough, a mob of people surround him. Pushing, shoving, yelling words at him he's never heard.

The only thing he could do was scream...

* * * * *

Ludwig jolts awake with a loud gasp. He fell asleep at his desk. The dim table lamp is still lit, and a thick book is open at random page. He slides his reading glasses off and pinches the bridge of his nose. The feeling of tears stings his eyes underneath closed lids. They roll down his cheeks when he opens them again. Ludwig is actually scared to lose you!

"Another damn dream..." He mutters. He switches the lamp off and leaves the dark room. Instead, he goes to your bedroom.

Ludwig watches your sleeping body, and knows for certain that he's sobbing. He hates to admit that he is crying, since he's a tough man, but at times like this, he feels he can't help himself.

You wake up to sounds of despair. Your sleepy gaze travels over to your alarmed husband. He kneels next to you on the floor and continually kisses your hand. "___-______!"

"Lud, what's wrong?" You ask, leaning over to turn on the table lamp.

"I know I sound ridiculous, but I'm so scared to lose you. ________, I love you so much!" He cries out.

You have never heard Ludwig so sad and upset. It makes you feel a little sad yourself. "It's okay. Don't cry about me." You reassure him, taking his face into your hands. You kiss his forehead and lips.

"I had this dream when we were visiting Kiku in Japan. We were waiting for the train in the big train station. I went to get a map because we were lost. And when I turned around, you were gone. You already left on the train without me. I wanted to tell the police, but I didn't know how to speak Japanese."

"Wow... I don't know what to say. I'm flattered. I love you too, my darling."

"I am just so happy you're here everyday, __________. I don't want to lose you."

Ludwig smiles at you with teary eyes.

- the end ♥

Once again, based off of true events. My mom told me about a dream when she was scared of losing me... Emoji26 Except I added a little more jazz.

Just thought I could upload one more quick story before I leave for my trip! Too bad I can't really think of anything creative to write in the description...

Thank you for reading! :D
